Dance and creativity are important in East London’s heritage, just like they are all around the world. Since the eastward expansion of the railways in the 19th century, East London has been prolific in the industrial and commercial advancement of the city. More recently, as these neighbourhoods have been regenerated (such as by the 2012 Summer Olympics in Stratford), modern, diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods have flourished. Dance and creativity are an integral part of the local culture and arts scene with East London being home to many dance studios, theatres, galleries and other creative spaces, which help to foster a thriving arts community. Since 2021 (as covid19 lockdowns finished), Adore Dance London has facilitated participation in dance so people of all ages can learn, grow and have fun while making a positive impact in the community.
