Adore Dance London’s Adult Tap Dance Classes in Stratford, Hackney Wick, Bow & Hackney are perfect for a fun & chilled introduction or reintroduction to tap dance. Tap dancing is a form of dance in which the dancer wears specialist shoes fitted two with metal taps that create a rhythmic sound by striking the floor with their feet. Tap dancing combines traditional dance styles, such like Jazz, with the rhythm effect from the taps hitting the floor. It's been made famous in Broadway & West End shows like 42nd Street, as well as, mainstream films like Billy Elliot and Singin’ In The Rain.

Our tap lessons and courses incorporate a fun & energetic mix of fundamental steps, foundational techniques, as well as, simple yet effective routines. You'll develop the basic skills used in tap dancing and learn to incorporate those movements into routines - this ensures you both improve as a dancer from the first week, but also have great fun by dancing in groovy routines!

If you're a total beginner, you won't need tap shoes for the first few weeks, clean & light-soled trainers are totally ok. If you decide to continue with the class, we recommend getting tap shoes of course! The teacher can help recommend styles & brands.
